International Best Model of the Year 2007, Nadeeka Samanmali Perera arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport yesterday.The super model represented Sri Lanka at the pageant in Alcante, Spain. This is the first time a Sri Lankan woman won first place in this category apart from the four mini titles, Miss Photogenic, Miss Glamour, Best National Costume and Miss Catwalk. Nadeeka told the Sunday Observer that her victory opened many opportunities and she was very glad that the experience she gained will help develop Sri Lanka’s fashion industry. Nadeeka said this achievement was an honour to the country, because she mastered the art of modelling within a very short period and she is ready to represent the country in any future pageants or events.
